DANIEL E. FREIMAN
Vice President and Treasurer
NII Holdings, Inc.
Daniel E. Freiman has served as the Vice President and Controller of NII Holdings since April 2005. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s accounting and reporting functions, including the management of regular financial reporting requirements with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC), technical accounting, consolidation accounting, corporate accounting, and internal reporting.
Additionally, Mr. Freiman assists in the oversight of the company’s compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Specifically, he focuses on compliance with the consolidation and external reporting processes. He also manages the external audit process and ensures the smooth operation of the company’s back office functions.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. Freiman served in several capacities at NII, first as director of external reporting and then as director of investor relations. As a result of his performance in these roles he was promoted to controller. Mr. Freiman began working for the company in September 2000 as a senior manager overseeing the company’s external reporting function (mainly SEC reporting and technical accounting).
Before joining NII Holdings, Mr. Freiman was a manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s audit practice in Washington, D.C. There, he was responsible for planning, overseeing and completing companies’ external financial audits—predominantly financial services organizations.
Mr. Freiman is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park (UMCP). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and has an MBA with a concentration in finance from UMCP.
