Steven P. Dussek
Chief Executive Officer
NII Holdings, Inc.
Steven P. Dussek assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of NII Holdings, Inc. on February 11, 2008. As the organization’s newly appointed leader, he will provide corporate governance and guidance to the company in its pursuit of growth opportunities in Latin America. Dussek has served on NII’s Board of Directors since 1999.
Dussek was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of NII Holdings from 1999 to 2000 when it was known as Nextel International and was a subsidiary of Nextel Communications, Inc.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of NII Holdings, Dussek was President and Chief Executive Officer of Dobson Communications Corporation. From 2005 to 2007 he led the company to profitability and increased its annual revenues to more than $1.5 billion. Dobson Communications Corporation was later acquired by AT&T.
Dussek has also held management and sales positions at various companies, including AT&T Wireless Services, where he was Vice President and General Manager of New Markets and the Northeast Region for the PCS division; Paging Networks, Inc.; McCaw Cellular Communications; and MCI Airsignal.
He and his wife, Anne, have three children, Alessandro, Francesca and Nicholas.
